Second Ukrainian Scholar Visits MWSU

Missouri Western State University hosts a wordly scholar this semester. Western brought its second Ukrainian scholar to visit the campus and present guest lectures. Dr. Olena Kovalchuk is the assistant professor and chair of the humanitarian students department at a liberal arts university in Ukraine. She is fluent in English, Russian and Ukrainian. Dr. Kovalchuk has also co-authored a book and published several articles on multicultural education. College students learned about the Ukrainian economic system, religions, art, music and differences in educational systems. Dr. Kovalchuk`s visit was made possible throught grants from many departments at Missouri Western.
