(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.) A statewide campaign targeting drunk driving kicks off Thursday in Missouri.

Officers will be on the lookout for impaired drivers as part of a special enforcement March 14-17.

The Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety is working with officers and businesses to promote the message that "Buzzed Driving is Drunk Driving."

The organization has shared St. Patrick's Day-themed posters and other reminders throughout the state to remind patrons to drive sober.

During the most recent impaired driving campaign, from August to September of 2012, officers made 583 arrests for impaired driving.

Those caught driving under the influence face fines and potentially jail time.
