(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) It was like a beauty pageant for for dogs, Saturday at the Civic Arena.

The St. Joseph Kennel Club hosted a confirmation dog show over the weekend.

The show features all breeds of canines that are recognized by the American Kennel Club.

St. Joseph is the second oldest kennel club west of the Mississipi, and show's like this bring passionate dog breeders from all over.

"I'm very concious about breeding, about using good genetics, and testing for all the right things, and providing and producing a really, really good dog, and so far I've not produced a perfect one. It's a dream we all have, it won't ever happen, but that's what keeps us going after it. The breeders really like what they do, they really like to see what they can do with the breed, and how they can improve that breed," said Dale Hunsburger, St. Joseph Kennel Club Treasurer.
