(LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Mo.) Authorities in Livingston County are investigating after finding a homemade bomb in a mailbox.

Sheriff Steve Cox said the chemical-reaction bomb was made from a soda bottle and placed inside a mailbox on Liv 506.

The bottle exploded, damaging the mailbox.

Sheriff Cox said it doesn't appear the culprit was targeting anyone at the home. He said it was most likely a random act, with the potential to be very dangerous.
