The U.S. Labor Department reported Friday that 155-thousand jobs were added in December. That's right about what economists had expected.
Some analysts saw notable signs for optimism.
"One-hundred eighty-two thousand Americans got in the labor force and they went out there looking for jobs. People are getting more optimistic out in the streets," said Jeff Macke, Yahoo Finance.
Jobs were added in health care, construction and manufacturing.
Rebuilding in the Northeast from Super Storm Sandy likely was a factor.
