(MANKATO, Mn.) A historic postseason run for the Missouri Western Griffons came to an end Saturday with a 17-10 loss to Minnesota State in the Division II National Quarterfinals.

Tied at 10 in the 4th quarter, the Mavericks (13-0) drove 80 yards in 10 plays capping it off with the go-ahead touchdown run by Connor Thomas.

The Griffons (12-2) ensuing drive ended after just 3 plays when quarterback Travis Partridge was intercepted by Earl Brooks.

This wraps up Missouri Western's best season in program history in wins (12) and playoff victories (2).

Harlon Hill candidate Michael Hill was unable to get anything going, rushing 15 times for just 50 yards.

The Griffon offense as a whole was held to just 243 total yards, and they turned it over 3 times, all interceptions.
