The buzz surrounding Neil Smith's plan to bring a restaurant to St. Joseph has fallen silent.

The business venture was promised during an announcement party in April at the United Building downtown.

The frontman at the time was Charles White with Robidoux Redevelopment. He says he's no longer working with Smith on the project.

Plans for the United Building seem to be dead as well. A co-owner for the building says they have moved on are now working with someone new to revamp the space for wedding receptions.

Smith said in June that he hoped to have the restaurant open by the start of Chiefs training camp later this month.

KQ2 has been unable to reach Neil Smith for comment.
