Since 2001 the 9 year search for Branson Perry has covered a lot of area -- yielding few answers.
The then 20-year-old Perry disappeared from his Skidmore home April 11.
As the open investigation now pushes a decade, officials say Sunday's anniversary gives them a renewed sense of hope in the ongoing search.
"We have a good deal of hope that we will be able to put this case to rest and find out what exactly happened to Branson," said Sgt. Sheldon Lyon at Highway Patrol.
Less than a month ago billboards with Perry's face resurfaced in St. Joseph,
a continued effort by the CUE Center for Missing Persons to aid law enforcement.
The Perry search heated up again last June when investigators dug up a plot of land east of Quitman.
Investigators were hoping the search would lead to Perry's body, but leads turned cold..
Officials remain optimistic, and Perry's name continues to circulate throughout the U.S.
His face is featured on Americas Most Wanted and his Facebook support page.
All in hopes that someday they'll get the answers they're looking for...
