(JEFFERSON CITY, Mo.,) A follow-up report on a 2012 audit of the Missouri State Public Defender found that all of state Auditor Tom Schweich's recommendations are in the process of being implemented.

Schweich's office suggested the MSPD establish tracking procedures to keep track of staff hours by case type and use the data so support management decisions.

The defender's office indicated a new system was up and running on March 1.

The MSPD is also looking into using an outside auditing firm to oversee its methodology for revising protocol and court cost collections.
