The Bearcats Drop Waldorf and Midland Saturday

(MARYVILLE, Mo.) Northwest Missouri State stepped away from the MIAA Saturday for a pair of non-conference wins over Midland University and Waldorf College.

The Bearcats (6-14, 4-11 MIAA) topped Midland 3-0, and followed it up with a 5-1 win over Waldorf.

Ryker Fox threw 6 2/3 innings of two-hit baseball on the way to his first win of the season. He also threw a season-high 11 strikeouts.

J.J. Baccari gave Northwest some cushion in the bottom of the sixth inning. Ahead 1-0, Baccari doubled home Cam Bedard and Tyler Durant to put the 'Cats up by three.

Baccari finished the game 2-4 for 2 RBI.

In game two, Durant drove in two runs in the third inning to give Northwest an early lead. He finished with three hits and three 3 RBI in the game.

Steven Garber and Derek Meyer also drove in a run apiece to add to the Bearcats' advantage.

Northwest's next series will be at home against Missouri Western beginning March 20th.
