District Receives Bids for Carden Park School

(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) The St. Joseph Board of Education is set to review four bids for construction of a new school at Carden park.

The district said it has received four competitive bids from local contractors for the new school, as well as air conditioning at some existing schools. Bids for construction of a school at Cook and Bishop roads will open March 28.

The board is expected to award contracts by April 8.

Brooner Construction, E.L. Crawford Construction, Lawhon Construction and Lee Grover Construction were the four companies to submit bids.

Chief Operating Officer Rick Hartigan says the district has $42 million in bond revenue approved for new construction and air conditioning. District staff will present the bids to the board.

In addition to construction and air conditioning, the contractors have submitted alternate bids for a walking trail, fencing for the trail, bitumen roof, gym equipment and bleachers. Pricing for food service equipment, security work and equipment and instructional technology cable and equipment were included in the bid.
