(NORMAN, Okla.) February 2005 marked the last time Kansas had lost three straight games.

That stat can now be updated as the No. 5 Jayhawks' puzzling plummet continued Saturday. Oklahoma delivered 72-66, suddenly putting the Big 12 championship up for grabs.

At the start of the week, Kansas (19-4, 7-3) still owned the nation's longest win streak at 18 games. Now, they must try to avoid losing four straight as they host No. 13 Kansas State Monday. The Wildcat now own the lead in the Big 12.

As the Jayhawks closed the gap late, Oklahoma freshman Je'Lon Hornbeak went 4 for 6 from the free throw line to hold them at bay. Romero Osby led the Sooners (15-7, 6-4) with 17 points.

Ben McLemore had 15 points for the Jayhawks, while Jeff Withey added 14.
