(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.) In most games, 27 turnovers is enough to sink a team, but Missouri Western escaped Wednesday by forcing 28 Lindenwood turnovers.

The Griffons (12-3, 5-2 MIAA) came away with a 65-59 victory upping their winning streak to three in a row, and four out of their last five.

After being tied 23-23 at halftime, Missouri Western opened up a 12 point lead with 14:54 left in the game.

Lindenwood followed that with a 15-3 run to tie the game, and later in the half, after getting down again by eight, the Lions took a 55-54 lead with 1:30 left in the game.

Down by one, Missouri Western went to Oklahoma State transfer Heather Howard for the go-ahead bucket.

Howard finished the game with 15 points and 13 rebounds.

Lanicia Lawrence and Sharniece Lewis each added 13 points.

The Griffons out-rebounded the Lions 49-34, including 24 offensive boards in the game.

Missouri Western gets back on the road Sunday with a game against Emporia State.
