(MARYVILLE, Mo.) It's been four days since Maryville's 35-22 win over John Burroughs to capture the 2012 Class 3 State Championship .

A little time to let reality sink in, but there was still time for celebration as the town assembled at Maryville High School to catch one more glimpse of Class 3's top dogs.

Spoofhound head coach Matt Webb shared memories from the 15-0 season and presented the championship trophy to school principal Jason Eggers. He also recollected a particular moment from his very first practice at head coach in that same gymnasium.

"I had Caleb Mather come up and talk to the team," he said. "I wanted him to tell the team his experience of being a state champion and being first place in the shot put. What he said was: 'It was an awesome feeling to know that you worked hard for something and now to know that you're the best.' Guys, you're the best."

It marks the ninth state championship overall for the school's athletic program.
