The St. Joseph Blacksnakes may stick around. Mayor Ken Shearin tells KQ2 that he met with a Kansas City Businessman Wednesday whos interested in buying the team, and keeping it in St. Joseph. "The talks are preliminary, but we did have a sit-down straight forward talk about what could and needs to be done." Shearin said. Shearin wouldnt name the interested buyer but said the buyer is interested in possibly renovating Phil Welch Stadium. Current Blacksnakes owner Mark Schuster says hes talked with "several" interested buyers, but maintains that hes not actively shopping the team around. He says hes made no decisions on the teams future. "Were going to sit down at the end of the season and evaluate what needs to be done. Because its obvious the current business plan in St. Joseph isnt working." The Team has been hampered by poor attendance, and has been operating on a shoe-string budget.
