Final Score: Milwaukee 11, Kansas City 6 Milwaukee, WI (Sports Network) - Corey Hart homered and drove in four runs as Milwaukee routed Kansas City, 11-6, in the opener of a three-game set at Miller Park. Hart finished 3-for-5 with a three-run homer and a run-scoring single for the streaking Brewers, who won their fourth in a row and for the eighth time in nine tries. Ryan Braun and Tony Graffanino also homered for Milwaukee. "I'm sure I've done it in the Minor Leagues but not too often," Braun said. "I think today my discipline was better and I was swinging at strikes. When I do that, I give myself an opportunity to hit the ball hard." Jeff Suppan (8-7) lasted just five innings for the Brewers, allowing five runs on nine hits while walking two and fanning five but earned the win. "Suppan pitched better than the scoreboard showed," Milwaukee manager Ned Yost said. "In the fourth inning he gave up two runs but every pitch he made was one he wanted to make." Ryan Shealy was 2-for-4 with a two-run double for the Royals, who lost their third in a row. Mark Teahen finished 4-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Jorge De La Rosa (4-9) was tattooed for seven runs on 10 hits in five innings. The struggling left-hander is now winless over his last eight outings (0-6). "We need to get more innings out of our starters," Kansas City manager Buddy Bell said. "We don't have anything else so hopefully De La Rosa gets better." With the game even at two, the Brewers tried to take control with a four-spot in the home half. Kevin Mench got things started with a double in the gap in left-center and quickly crossed the plate on Rickie Weeks' two-bagger. Suppan helped his own cause with a base hit and Hart followed with an RBI single. After Craig Counsell went down swinging, Braun ripped another double to make it a 6-2 game. The cushion was short-lived when the Royals bounced back with three runs in the fifth. With runners on the corners and one down, Emil Brown lifted a sac fly to left. Then, after Alex Gordon walked, Shealy laced a two-run double that drew Kansas City within a run, 6-5. Milwaukee then carved out a little breathing room in the sixth when Graffanino touched De La Rosa for his fourth homer of the season to make it 7-5. The Brewers finally put things away with a two-out rally in the seventh. Pinch hitter Gabe Gross singled to center and swiped second before Graffanino walked and Hart chased them both home with a three-run shot, his ninth on the year. Bill Hall's RBI single in the eighth gave the Brewers an 11-5 edge. Teahen's run-scoring double in the ninth accounted for the final margin. The Brewers took an early lead when Braun belted a two-out, solo home run in the first. Milwaukee added a run in the third. Hart singled, moved to second on Counsell's ground ball, advanced to third on Braun's infield single and crossed the plate when Prince Fielder chopped out to first. Kansas City deadlocked things in the fourth. Teahen slapped a single up the middle and scored on Gordon's one-out double to left. After Shealy's infield single chased Gordon to third, he scored on Tony Pena's two-out infield single. Game Notes Milwaukee shortstop J.J. Hardy did not start the game due to lower-back stiffness. Hardy is listed as day-to-day...Hart currently owns a career-best nine-game hitting streak...The Royals bested the Brewers in two of their three matchups last year at home and also took two of three versus the club in Milwaukee in 2001.
