(ST. JOSEPH, Mo.)  What a difference a couple weeks and a little sun will make.

Instead of a snow day like they had a couple weeks ago, it was play day at Parkview Elementary.
Temperatures into the 70s meant recess was rush hour traffic on the slide.

The popular theme for the day: no more snow!

"I'm glad it's gone!"  says Parkview's Kenny Pflugladt.

"I like playing when it's so nice out here because then you can wear shorts and not have to wear coats all the time," adds student Thomas Mann.

It's certainly better than the alternative of another winter's day sitting inside playing video games.

With the the nice weather, everybody was a winner out on the basketball court.

The big kids were out playing too.

At Fairview Golf Course, many had taken at least part of the day off to get out on the links.

"It's fantastic. Everybody's just waiting for the warm weather this time of year," says course marshal Dan Zaroor. "We've had a couple big snows. Everybody just wants to get outside and enjoy themselves."

For Jacob Taylor of St. Joseph,  it was his first time on the swings this year. "This is a little different than we were a couple days ago, so, it's beautiful," he says.

Even though this is just a taste of spring, it's not going to stop some from thinking about summer.

"I get to swim and everything like that," says Parkview's Neva Van Sickle.

It was fun for a day with colder temperatures moving in.
