(MANHATTAN, Ks.) They may not have wowed anyone out of the building, but Kansas State got back on the right track Tuesday.

Rodney McGruder's 26-point effort fueled a 78-69 Wildcat victory over Texas Southern.

Kansas State's (8-2) fluctuated throughout the night, as their eventual double-digit advantage was cut back to singles down the final stretch of the second half.

The Wildcats were able to fend off the Tigers, aided Thomas Gipson's double double (14 points, 12 rebounds).

Kansas State returns to action Saturday when they battle No. 8 Florida at the Sprint Center in Kansas City.
