(COLUMBIA, Mo.) Missouri held at 12th in the nation in the latest AP Poll.
Their goal Monday night was not to look ahead to a date with No. 10 Illinois this weekend as they welcomed in South Carolina State.
The Tigers had little trouble with that, cruising to a 102-51 win over the Bulldogs.
Mizzou (9-1) notched a season-high 49 points in the first quarter, sparked by the debut of Oregon transfer Jabari Brown. He scored 12 points and dished three assists in his debut in Columbia.
Earnest Ross led the Tigers with 16 points off the bench. Keion Bell was also in double figures with 12, while Laurence Bowers and Stefan Jankovic had 11 apiece.
Bowers also broke the 1,000-point barrier for his career, becoming the 44th player in program history to do so.
