St. Joe led by as many as nine runs in St. Paul Thursday night. The Blacksnakes got off to a fast start scoring eight runs in the first three innings, the bulk of which came in a five-run third, highlighted by a three-run home run by St. Joe DH Chad Sosebee. Sosebee was 5-for-5 on the night, tying the league record for hits in a game, with two runs and six RBI. Starting Blacksnakes pitcher Rick DeHart evened up his season record at 2-2 after pitching seven innings and allowing three runs on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts. The Saints came within five runs of St. Joe in the sixth inning, but the Blacksnakes answered quickly and won by the final score of 12-4. For the Saints, C Marcel Longmire went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs and two RBI.
