A banner sports year for Benton High School keeps getting better. The Cardinal baseball team bested Pleasant Hill 3-1 in Class 3 Sectionals Tuesday to become the 4th Benton sports team this school year to advance to the MO state quarterfinals. Football did it. Boys Basketball did it- so did the girls basketball team on the way to its undefeated State Championship Senior Pitcher Kyle Mason struck out 7 roosters in route to a complete game victory. Benton (21-3) will meet the Lawson/Kirksville winner in Quarterfinals Saturday.
