Cameron Falls Short of State Championship

(COLUMBIA, Mo.) The Lady Dragons made it to the final hurdle in their first Show-Me Showdown appearance, but finished one step short of the ultimate prize.

Cameron fell 80-68 to Lutheran (St. Peter's) in the Class 3 State Championship Game Saturday at Mizzou Arena.

In a foul-dominated contest, the Lady Dragons' (20-12) were led by the one-two punch of Ashli Lykins, who topped the team with 26 points, and Melia Richardson, who had 24.

Hannah Leppien led Lutheran with 25 points.
