Reported by: Bob Cervera Thursday, Nov 5, 2009 @09:31pm CST Work on KQ2's broadcast tower is almost complete.
You may have noticed it was cut down considerably, then some of it was built back up. The part that was built up is the new, permanent digital antenna. KQ2 is has been using a temporary antenna since the analog TV cut-off last June. The new antenna is expected to give us better coverage in our broadcast area. Not much is left to do before that happens. "They're down to the point where we're hooking up wires, basically, and getting it all tested out to make sure it'll function properly," sad KQTV Chief Engineer, Steve Hendrix. The new antenna is expected to be turned on the middle of next week. The yellow ladder at the very top will also be taken down. |
