It was a full house at St. Joseph City Hall as hundreds gathered to hear the debate about a Liquor Server's License.

The plan is meant to crack down on serving to minors.

The council meeting was filled with people giving testimonies about life experiences dealing with the dangers underage drinking, but in the end, the controversy boiled down to dollars and cents.

It'll cost each employee $15 to take the liquor law training course, and obtain the ID permit to sell alcohol.

Some stores will be footing the bill for their employees, and those business were concerned about those high costs.

In the end the bill passed 6-3.

This law is expected to impact 3,000-4,000 employees at the various establishments around town.

Current employees of bars and stores will actually have until 2011 to get the licensing.

Any new employees that serves alcohol, hired from this point forward, will have to obtain the training and ID card.
