High honors for a top MoDOT official.

MoDOT Director Pete Rahn has been named Public Official of the Year by Governing Magazine.

The magazine credits Rahn for steering programs to fix Missouri's roads and bridges.

83% of state roads are now considered in good condition and deadly crashes in the state have dropped 24% since 2005.

Rahn is the first MoDOT director to earn the honor in the award's 23 year history.
