Reported by: Iashea Cross Monday, Aug 24, 2009 @06:23pm CDT Stores and business owners are bracing for the Bearcats in Maryville.
Maryville's economy thrives during the school year because of the students at Northwest Missouri State University. Classes don't begin until next Monday, but many students have already begun moving in. The university brings in about 7,000 students during the school year. "I'm looking forward to seeing the football team. I'm a huge football fan, so I am looking forward to seeing the team play and seeing what they're going to look like this year," said student Travis White. An official count on this year's enrollment is expected in a few weeks. |
