Friday, Jun 26, 2009 @09:24am CDT Someone else's junk is another person's treasure and if you're a
bargain hunter, you might find a great deal and help a cash-strapped
animal shelter at the same time. Employees at Maryville's JCPenney will host a garage sale to benefit the New Nodaway Humane Society's. The animal shelter provides temporary
sanctuary for lost or abandoned pets and provides education about pet
care and owner responsibility. "We hosted a similar sale for the United Way several years ago, so we decided it would be wonderful to do something for the community once again - this time for our area's animal shelter," employee Debbie Easterla said. The garage sale will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 26. It will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 27. |
