Wednesday, May 2, 2007 @12:36pm CDT Jim has been working in the broadcast industry for 26 years. Jim first started at KMTV channel 27 in Springfield, Mo in 1980 as a reporter/photographer. Since then, Jim has worked in both radio and TV in Batesville and Little Rock, Arkansas. Marshalltown and Ottumwa, Iowa. Kirksville, Mo. Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Tulsa, Oklahoma and presently at KQTV in St. Joseph. Jim has held a variety of positions including, reporter, producer, anchor, weathercaster, program director, operations manager and station manager. Jim’s current position at KQTV is Promotions Manager and fills in on weather from time to time. Jim has received many awards and merits throughout the years from including the Arkansas Associated Press Broadcasters Association, NASA’s Journalist-In-Space project, the National Associated Press Managing Editors Association, the Missouri Broadcasters Association and the Missouri Community Service Commission. Currently Jim is serving on the St. Joseph Civil War Sesquicentennial Committee and is producing, directing and writing “St. Joseph, Days of Civil War”, a documentary that will be released in May 2007. Jim has been living in the St. Joseph area for 5 years and has two daughters, Dawn and Jennifer living in nearby Kansas City and a son, Alexander who lives in Marshalltown, Iowa. Click to email Jim |
