St. Joseph, Mo. - Those looking for a night of peace and quiet at Krug Park on the evening of Saturday, October 24th are in for a big surprise. On that night, Bossibility Music, a regional promotion and marketing company, in partnership with Second Harvest, will be hosting a free, all-ages rock ‘n’ roll benefit concert at Krug Park amphitheater.
The first Kick Hunger Concert will begin at 4 p.m. and promises to be the most exciting rock concert St. Joseph has seen in years. The event already features four bands, a DJ, side-stage activities and will boast an 18,000 watt sound system.
Kick Kick is scheduled to headline the event. Since their emergence on the music scene, the band has quickly garnered positive reviews and a reputation for their wild, energetic and out-of-control stage performances. Kick Kick had the opportunity to open for American Idol winner, David Cook, and bands like Blue October at Sandstone Amphitheater in Bonner Springs, Kan.
The amphitheater at Krug Park has 1,200 seats and an expansive uphill lawn so everyone is guaranteed a perfect view during show time. The orchestra pit in front of the large stage will be transformed into a ball pit filled with over 250 beach balls.
All attendants are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items for admittance.
“The way I see it, there are two causes we stand for, feeding the hungry and rock and roll,” said Flashy Thundercat, percussionist and singer for Kick Kick. “There’s no telling how much money we can raise from this event, but I do know the best way we can help is by doing what we do best: throwing the most live, insane and high-energy party on the stage that anyone has ever seen.”
